While this machine can do what it was made for, I think the money could be better spent. Cutter knife replacement is expensive and allignment is is a bear. Drive belt system is a joke, replacement belts are hard to find and expensive. Infeed table adjustment on mine just broke after 2 years of limited use. I'm now shopping for a replacement jointer. Should have spent a little more from the start, you should too.

The RIKON 6-Inch Jointer's powerful 1-horsepower motor speaks to the professional quality of this high-performance power tool. Its TEFC (totally enclosed fan cooled) motor keeps dust away for safety and cleanliness. In addition, a vented, easy-access cabinet door circulates air, keeping the motor cool. The jointer is also equipped with a powerful 14,400 CPM saw for making smooth cuts, even through hardwoods.
